Maira completed her Ph.D. thesis at the Institute for Research on Catalysis and the Environment of the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (CNRS) and Saint-Gobain Provence Research on the catalytic performance of ion-conducting materials for pollution control. Her post-doctoral work was conducted in two ANR research programs aiming at developing new catalysts for the treatment of gaseous effluents containing traces of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or nitrogen oxides (NOx and N2O), combining experimental work and modeling. This has allowed her to acquire expertise in synthesis and physicochemical characterization of materials, and interactions at the interfaces of diphasic systems.
Since 2014 his work at IFPEN has focused on the study of interactions at the interfaces between complex fluids and different materials for automotive and aeronautics: the process of liquid film formation and deposits on metallic and polymeric surfaces; thermal and oxidation stability; chemical kinetics and molecular modeling. Currently, her research is devoted to two main areas: the study of the interactions at interfaces and the flow of complex fluids such as surfactants, foams in polluted porous media for soil remediation or depollution; and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
Her research work has led to 6 patents and 12 peer-reviewed publications.
