Minh Tuan Nguyen completed an Engineer degree from Da-Nang University of Technology (Vietnam) in 2012, and a Master of Science degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (ENSCL) and IFP School in 2013. From 2013 to 2016, he was PhD student under the academic guidance of Christophe Geantet and Melaz Tayakout (IRCELYON) and industrial guidance of Gerhard Pirngruber and Fabien Chainet (IFPEN). His PhD thesis topic was in the fields of Catalysis, Kinetic and Chemical Engineering, aimed at understanding the effects of support acidity of hydrotreating catalysis in the hydrodenitrogenation reactions, by using experimental works combined with kinetic modeling. The results of these works were published in 5 articles and communicated in several international conferences (GeCat 2015 with the best poster price, ISCRE 2016, MACS 2016, ISAHOF 2019). He got the PhD degree in October 2016.
Since 2017, he joined IFPEN as research engineer in the department of Process Experimentation. His research activities focus on the innovations of catalytic materials and processes, in the hydroprocessing of fossil feedstocks and renewable feedstocks (biomass derived feedstocks, plastic and tire derived feedstocks) for the production of biofuels and for the chemical recycling, in the context of energetic transition and circular economy.
Until 2023, he is author of 5 publications as first author, 1 publication as co-author and he deposited 7 patents in the field.
